10 Million Signatures Collected, Raila Hints Next Move
Raila hints next move after collecting 10 million signatures from Kenyans.
Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has disclosed that more than 10 million signatures have been collected.
The exercise for collecting signatures was rolled out on July 11, 2023 and today Saturday 16th Azimio leader has disclosed that the signatures collected by now are enough.
“Over 10 millions signatures have been collected from Kenyans. This is enough, we know what we can do with this signatures” Raila said.
He added that the next for Azimio La Umoja movement will be keep secret. However, he said that this time Kenyans wi not be asked to go back to streets.
” I Don’t want to disclose the next move at this moment” Raila added.
Azimio leader launched a public website on July 11 for the collection of 10 million signatures in a bid to get public support for their campaign against the Kenya Kwanza administration.
On Friday Odinga informed the press that President William Ruto has increased the government’s public expenditure by Sh400 billion over the last one year.
He termed the Kenya Kwanza’s leadership over the last 12 months as disastrous for the country. He accused the government of unbridled spending and borrowing.
Raila further said that President Ruto has done contrary to the promises he made to the country during the campaign period.
According to the Opposition leader Kenyans were having a lot of expectations that Kenya Kwanza would cut down on expenditure and borrowing and to cost of living. The current government has increased expenditure and cost of living has gone higher leaving people in lamentations.
Since president Ruto was swon on as the 5th president of Kenya, Kenyans have lamented high cost of fuel and other essential commodities.
