Lawmaker for Emuhaya Constituency Omboko Milemba has said he will table a motion seeking to compel the TSC to stop delocalisation of teachers.
Omboko, the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers Chair, said TSC has been using delocalisation to frustrate teachers and it must stop.
According to the lawmaker, other MPs have given him overwhelming support to table the motion as they are against Teacher delocalisation.
He challenged the Commission to implement Salary Increment for teachers as agreed in the Collective Bargaining Agreements signed between the commission and Teacher’s Unions.
Omboko assured teachers that delocalisation will come to an end. I am going to table a motion in the National Assembly that will compel TSC to stop punitive delocalisation of teachers.
Omboko was addressing teachers during the Kuppet’s annual general meeting for Vihiga county at the Kima Mission School of Theology.
He said due to delocalisation, many teachers are suffering from stress, and absenteeism has become a big problem.
He emphasized that TSC should allow teachers to work in their localities because CBC wants teachers who understand their culture and language well for them to teach pupils.
Lurambi members of Parliament is in support of Omboko’s move to table a motion in Parliament. Titus Khamala said teachers have suffered due to delocalisation and it must be stopped and give room for them to serve where they are comfortable.
Titus said delocalisation of teachers must stop and the new curriculum should be reviewed properly. CBC has proved to be very expensive and most of the parents cannot sustain it.
