7 Police Officers Arrested Over The Escape Of 3 Wanted Terrorists
Seven police officers from Kamiti Maximum prison have been arrested following the escape of three wanted terrorists yesterday from prison under unclear circumstances.
The three terror suspects allegedly fled from the prison yesterday evening in unclear circumstances.
The escape of the three was confirmed by the detectives from the director of criminal investigations. The DCI revealed that the three suspects who are now wanted by the Kenya police allegedly managed to trick and run from police officers for an unknown destination.
The report has it that one of them was arrested when he was found with explosives trying to bow parliament buildings while the other was arrested while trying to Sign Kenyans into joining the Alshabaab terrorists.
The third suspect was arrested after he was linked to the Garissa University attack that led to the death of several students from the university.
DCI early this morning declared a Ksh 60 million bounty on the suspect.
However, the Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi visited the area today and he associated the escape of the three criminals to lack of competency from the police who were in charge.
The Interior CS then ordered the arrest of the 7 officers who were taken to their cells for more investigations.
