Fuel Prices Drop by Small Margin
New fuel prices have been announced by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA)(EPRA), and they will be in effect from June 15 at midnight to July 14 of 2023.
In the most recent review, the price of fuel and Super Petrol both dropped by Ksh.1.12 and Ksh.0.66 per litre, respectively.
The retail cost of kerosene has also gone up by Ksh. 0.35 per litre at the same time.
Following the review, Super Petrol would cost Ksh. 182.04 per litre in Nairobi, Diesel Ksh. 167.28, and Kerosene Ksh. 161.48.

According to the Finance Act of 2018, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act of 2020, and the updated rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020, the prices include 8% Value Added Tax (VAT).
“The average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreased by 1.09% from US$724.01 per cubic meter in April 2023 to US$716.15 per cubic meter in May 2023; Diesel increased by 0.84% from US$688.07 per cubic metre to US$693.86 per cubic metre while Kerosene decreased by 0.83% from US$699.54 per cubic metre to US$693.71 per cubic metre.”
