TSC Announces Job Groups to Receive July Salary Increment. Only 3 job groups will benefit from the teachers’ salary increase in July, the TSC has officially confirmed.
According to the most recent CBA that was signed, the commission that employed each teacher verified that the teachers would receive their final wage increment. The teachers’ pay raises will be given to them in July.
According to TSC’s terms and conditions, the wage increase is only available to instructors who have worked in a specific job category for a minimum of three years.
This information was released after TSC received assurances that it would receive the 2.2 billion shillings it had asked for to promote teachers. The sum was given the nod by parliamentarians.
According to this plan, tutors who have been inactive for more than three years in a particular work cadre will be given preference. The July pay raise is guaranteed for these teachers.
TSC also plans to advance 14,000 instructors who have been in the same job category for years. Despite having greater academic credentials, these teachers haven’t experienced promotions in a while.
The allocation of the aforementioned additional monies to TSC for teacher promotions was approved by the legislative budget committee, which is chaired by Kiharu MP Ndidi Nyoro.
The categories of teachers who will receive pay raises and promotions have been emphasized by the Teachers Service Commission;
C1 teachers moving to grade C2
C2 teachers moving to grade C3
C3 teachers moving to job group C4
600 million shillings would be used, according to the commission, to promote 4595 C1 teachers to job group C2. This was said last week by the TSC CEO when testifying before the legislative education committee.
In addition, Sh. 400 million will be used to promote 2637 teachers from Job Group C3 to C4. 652 tutors who have D3 degrees must be promoted to D4 for a total of 175 million shillings.
These teachers are now content as they wait for TSC to send them their overdue payments.
