Grade 7 pupil electrocuted
A family in Homa Bay, ndhiwa Constituency, Wi-Rakuom village is grieving after the death of their boy aged 15 years who was electrocuted.
The boy who has been identified as Castro Odhiambo is reported to have died after he touched a live naked electricity wire left at the fence of their neighbour. The deceased was a Student at Wi-Rakuom primary school in grade seven.
The area Assistant Chief Mr. Alphonse has confirmed the accident and revealed that the deceased boy used a wooden plug to touch the wire when the incident occurred.
The deceased screamed loudly after he was electrocuted, prompting his friends and the members of the family to run to the scene only to find the boy lying down in unconscious state.
The boy was rushed to a nearby private hospital in Rodi Kopany where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The deceased body was taken to Manyatta Kobodo Mortuary as the burial plans are underway. Grade 7 pupil electrocuted.
In a different story, a family in Nandi County is crying for justice for their daughter who is in Grade Seven in keburo primary school after her teacher by the name Cosmas fractured her hand while punishing her last month before the half term break.
The teacher is accused of beating the grade seven pupil by the name Elsy Jelimo for making noise in class during class time. The girl is said to have sustained serious injuries on her left arm.
The grade seven learner to have come from School and informed her brother that that she was beaten by her teacher in school and that her hand was hurting so much.
She was taken to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital for treatment where she was admitted. The pupil said that the teacher gave her several strokes of the cane on claims of making noise in class while the other students were learning.
