9 suspected criminals escape from police station
Nine suspected criminals who were being held at Isiolo police station among them adults and juveniles escaped from the cell today very early in the morning and are currently on the loose.
Reports indicate that the suspects escaped without being noticed early hours around 4am. All the nine suspectssuspects have pending criminal charges. It is Alleged that they broke the lock that was used to lock the door to their cell.
The nine then fled from the policepolice station without being noticed under unclear circumstances.
It is reported that Sentry officers and police in charge of (manning) the OB desk did not realize that the suspects were missing after their breaking out until late hours despite the fact that the cell where they were being held is adjacent to the OB desk.
Wliam Kiambi, sub county police commander Isiolo, while confirming the incident said that the police have launched a manhunt to ensure that the nine suspected criminals are re-arrested so that they can answer to their criminal charges they are facing. The commander spoke to citizen digital media.
William Kiambi added that his team is at the moment investigating how the incident happened and how the criminals were able to break out of their holding cells and run away without being noticed yet the sentry officer was present and OB desk officers were also near their cell and were present.
