PSC advertises internship vacancies, requirements and deadline for application
The Public Service Commission (PSC) has today, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, announced 1,000 internship opportunities in the State Department for Basic Education under the Digital Literacy Programme.
Through a statement, PSC announced that interested candidates should have graduated no earlier than 2019.
PSC also said that interested candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in education with a specialisation in information communication technology or a Bachelor’s degree in ICT or a diploma in the same from a recognised institution.
“The candidate must be willing to be deployed to any Sub County Education office within the country on a full-time basis,” PSC said.

Those interested have been urged to apply through the commission’s portal accessible through the Public www.publicservice.go.ie or www.psckjobs.go.ke on or before September 25, 2023.

Successful candidates will be appointed and deployed to schools at a sub-county level where in addition to acquiring practical skills and knowledge, the interns will play a critical role in supporting virtual learning and other related digital platforms.

“The Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education has declared 1,000 vacancies for internship under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP), Cohort 3,” the commission stated.
The internship will run for 12 months and interns will be paid by the State Department for Basic Education at a rate as determined by the Government Certificate.
They will also be awarded a certificate by the State Department.
Successful applicants will be required to assist teachers by integrating ICT in the delivery of teaching, learning and assessment, supporting school staff with the development and production of key school policies and procedures.
They will also be expected to support the implementation of the digital learning programme.
“They will also provide class support and training of primary school teachers in the use of digital literacy devices and provide support in the safe, secure and ethical use of technology in learning as well as first-line support and maintenance of ICT services in the schools,” PSC added.
