The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams for candidates in grades six and eight will start today.
Exam supervisors and representatives from the Education Ministry showed up at exam collection locations this morning, marking the formal start of the nationwide exercise.
On Monday morning, President Ruto is anticipated to supervise the drill in Kikuyu, Kiambu County.
To supervise the distribution of exam materials, additional leaders will also make visits to different testing locations.

Primary schools will no longer use the 8-4-4 curriculum after the exams. Thus marks the end f era for 8-4-4 system which started in 1985.
A total of 1,415,315 applicants will take the KCPE exam, and another 903,260 applicants will take the KCSE exam. A total of 1,282,574 students in Grade Six will participate in the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), according to Knec Chief Executive David Njengere.
