The 238 Technical Education and Vocational colleges located throughout the nation will receive an additional 2,000 instructors from the government.
According to Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, the hiring would improve the colleges’ technical capabilities to help the students they have admitted develop a variety of technical and vocational skills.
The statements were made by Machogu last Friday during the commissioning of Chemasiri Technical and Vocational College in the Teso North Subcounty of Busia County.
In order to support ICT instruction at the institution, the CS additionally put over 100 PCs into service.

“The government has hired 1,300 additional instructors, stating that they will supplement the current faculty to enhance TVET colleges’ ability to prepare students for the workforce,” he said.
Furthermore, Machogu stated that the government is prioritizing TVET in order to assist in equipping youth with real-world skills in preparation for an economy that demands technical and vocational expertise.
He added that young people with technical skills were needed in Germany and other European nations, and that students who completed TVET had employment chances in both the local and international markets.
According to Machogu, technical training facilities will be established by the government in each of the constituencies.
The local MP, Kaunya, praised the administration for its assistance to the college and stated that the college will receive 100 laptops as a contribution.

The institution provides courses in agriculture, ICT, welding, mechanical and electrical engineering, building and construction, and welding.
