Government Announces Recruitment of Tutors
The government has announced the recruitment of 2,000 more tutors for the Technical and Vocational Education Training colleges across the nation.
According to Ezekiel Machogu the Education Cabinet Secretary, the recruitment will empower the technical capacities of the institutions to develop the various skills in technical and vocational training of the learners admitted to the colleges.
Education Cabinet Secretary made the remarks during the commissioning of Chemasiri Technical and Vocational College in Busia, Teso North Subcounty.
In order to strengthen the training capacities of TVET Institutions the government recently recruited new tutors, 1,300 in number, as revealed by Education CS. The new instructors will join the rest of the team soon.
The government is prioritisingTVET Institutions to help provide practical skills to the youths in line with the economical requires to foster development and reduce joblessness.
Machogu further noted that TVET Institutions will equip the young generation with globally marketable skills required in European countries.
He expressed government’s commitment to establishing technical training institutes in all the Constituencies.

In other headlines, KNEC has warned candidates sitting the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations to be aware of fake exam materials circulating on social media platforms.
Dr. David Njengere, KNEC CEO, has ascertained that the papers posted on social media platforms are meant to deceive candidates as they are not genuine.
The CEO said the new guidelines put in place to curb cheating are bearing fruits, and the exam council is determined to conduct credible results.
He further revealed that several cases of malpractices have been reported do far nationwide but the number has no significance in tainting the integrity of the exam.
The KNEC CEO also stated that various measures have been embraced to ensure schools in areas affected by the heavy rains receive exam papers timely.
Njegere has hailed all those who are involved in manning the exams for their cooperation so far.
