Form one addition has been ongoing throughout last week to join secondary across the country. The government placed all the pupils who sat for the 2020 KCPE exam in March 2021 to join a secondary school to fulfil 100% transition but the report has it that majority have not reported to secondary schools by the end of last week.
The students started reporting to school last in August 2021 to commence the first term for the academic year 2021.
The form one addition which started on 2nd August 2021 and was scheduled to end on 6th of August has been dealt a blow after a good number of them have not yet been reported to secondary schools. The majority of schools have admitted fewer students compared to the exact number they are supposed to admit.
For this reason, the CS for education ministry Professor Magoha has decided to relieve secondary school heads pressure in trying to find a solution to the sluggish admission of the form ones by extending the admission deadline for seven more days. Now the form ones who have not joined yet due to various have a reason to smile because they have up to 13th August to prepare and join secondary school.
This is a golden opportunity for the learners who are still a home for one reason or the other to secure addition for the coming week.
