The Teacher Service Commission has already released the merit list of shortlisted candidates who applied for the TSC advertised replacement vacancies for both primary and secondary school teachers.
The TSC interviews are ongoing and are expected to be completed in the next few weeks before schools close.
The shortlisted teachers will equally start receiving text messages for interview invitations before the next week.
During application for these vacancies, TSC had clarified on several requirements that were equally used to generate the merit list. They included;
All primary teachers must be holders of a P1 certificate and above, be a Kenyan citizen and below 44 years.
P1 qualifications and length of stay since graduation;
During interviews, shortlisted candidates are required to carry the following documents to the venue:
1.National Identity card.
2. CPE/KCPE certificate (including first attempt certificate if one sat for the examination more than once).
3. PTE certificate.
4..School/college leaving certificates.
5. All transcripts
6. KCSE Certificate(s)
The Sub county selection panel shall include the following;
1.Sub-County Director – Chairperson
2.TSC Sub-County Human Resource Officer – Secretary
3.All zonal Curriculum Support Officer – Members

In case of a tie in the score during interviews, the panel is advised to apply the criteria given below in the order to break the tie:
1. Age of the applicant (44-45 years).
2. Preference to be given to the applicants with highest grade obtained in Teaching Practice;
3. KCSE quality grades;
4. Preference to be given to the applicants who graduated earlier;
5. Preference to be given to the applicants who had not previously secured a job by the Commission.
All the shortlisted and invited candidates for the interviews are required to keep time during the material day.
