KNEC To Sponsor Trainee Teachers On The Following Categories.
KNEC has announced 250 sponsorship programmes for trainee teachers in the following specific categories. The sponsorship programmes will commence with the trainee teachers who are joining teacher colleges in the January intake next year.
All the candidates who qualify to join teacher training colleges are asked to apply for the sponsorship.
However, the sponsorship programmes offered by The Kenya National Examination Council can only be accessed at the international training college for teachers.
The categories of teachers that are targeted by these sponsorship programmes include those who will pursue Diploma in secondary teacher education, a Diploma in early childhood education, a Diploma in primary education and a Diploma in upgrading program.
Qualifications for getting the sponsorship
1. Diploma in Secondary Education
The applicant in this category must have attained a minimum grade of C+(plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
The vacancies available for this category of trainee teachers are 50(fifty only).
2. Early Childhood Teacher Education (Diploma)
To apply for the sponsorship, one must be having a C(plain) as a minimum grade in his or her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
Vacancies available for the applicants are 100( one hundred only).
3. Primary Teacher Education Diploma Course
As a primary teacher trainee, to qualify for the KNEC sponsorship programmes one must have attained a mean of C(plain) and above in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Examination.
The vacancies that are available for this category are 100(one hundred only).
4. Upgrading to Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education
You must have respective certificates from credited and known teacher training colleges for you to qualify or apply for the sponsorship programmes.
You must also be registered by the teacher commission TSC to apply.
