The Kenya National examination council, KNEC has issued major announcement to all teachers concerning the news circulating informing teacher trainees on sponsorship without their consent.
KNEC is the body responsible for handling all matters related to national examinations at all educational levels in the country Kenya.
It is also mandated to inform all the involved parties that are teachers, students and other head officials within the education system on some urgent matters involving educational activities.
Following the information that has reached the body’s attention, the KNEC has issued a stern warning to all public especially the teachers trainees on the fake news circulating.
The Kenya National Examination Council KNEC has opposed the news circulating informing all the trainee teachers of available sponsorship from them.
KNEC has termed this information as total rumours and fake. Therefore the body is urging the trainee teachers to avoid such misguiding information.
The news that KNEC has termed fake informed teachers and the mass of 250 sponsorship programmes for the trainee teachers.
According to the news, the sponsorship programmes was scheduled to commence with the trainee teachers who are joining teacher colleges in the January intake next year.
All the candidates who qualify to join teacher training colleges were asked to apply for the sponsorship and were to be accessed only be accessed at the international training college for teachers.
Further, these categories of teachers that are targeted by these sponsorship programmes according to the opposed news included those teachers who will pursue Diploma in secondary teacher education, a Diploma in early childhood education, a Diploma in primary education and a Diploma in upgrading program.

The teacher training colleges are likely to have teachers’ intake next year for those who want to train as teachers in diploma level in secondary school education, primary education and early childhood education and those who want to upgrade to diploma levels.
