Another Famous Girls School Is Closed Indefinitely After Fire Raze Down A Dorm
Today in Siaya County, it dawned with shocking information of another school being razed down after students reportedly goes on a rampage soon after the students resumed back after the mid break.
It has been reported that one dormitory of St Mary’s Siaya girls which holds a capacity of 400 students has been razed down.
The cause of the fire has not been established. The investigation officers have been deployed to the Scene of the crime to look into the matter and establish the cause of the fire.
All students have been ordered to vacate the school premises as investigation into the case is effected.
Rogue students have been bringing school programmes to a standstill to an extent that the ministry of education was forced to offer a midterm break which was not scheduled in the second term calendar to calm down the fire incidents in secondary schools across the country.
The half-term break seems not to offer any solutions to school arson because school fires are still reported.
Cases of fire have been rampant in public secondary schools in Kenya in the recent past mainly affecting school dormitories. The fire incidents are alleged to be caused by unrest amongst learners for undefined reasons.
In the second term before the midterm break, more than 30 schools were razed by fire and thus the rate is alarming.
