The Higher Education Loan Board (HELB) has delivered good news to all college and university loan applicants, beneficiaries of HELB loans and non-beneficiaries of HELB loans.
According to the message Higher Education Loan Board shared in their official Twitter account, loan applicants are advised to check their loan status by visiting the HELB portal at any time.
HELB also announced that the loanee beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries can also download their compliance certificate, clearance certificate and loan statement by following the same procedure.
Other services that can be accessed once one logs in to the portal are penalty waiver application, HELB loan statement, loan status, loan repayment services and helb loan application.
Helb Has Delivered Good News: How to Apply for Compliance Certificate
If you acquired a loan and your loan repayment is up to date or you have never benefited from HELB loan, you visit the HELB portal or E-citizen, apply and download your HELB compliance certificate and clearance certificate.
You do not need to visit Huduma centre offices or Ciber. All this can be done at your own convenient time using your computer or smartphone.
Loanee compliance certificate is issued to the loan beneficiaries whose loan repayment are up to date or non-beneficiaries of the HELB loan or the loan beneficiaries who are still within the repayment grace period.
Once a HELB loan beneficiary completes repaying the loan he or she is issued with a certificate of clearance. The service is provided free of charge.
A non-loanee compliance certificate can also be given to those who did not benefit from HELB loan. If you fall in this category you are also required to apply for the non-loanee compliance certificate from the HELB portal or e-citizen portal. The service is also provided free of charge.
