To Cane or not to Cane?? Do it at your own risk
Two teachers have been fined 4.2M (four point two million) after they were taken to court by a parent for caning a pupil.
The debate on whether to return canes to school or not have been going on for quite some time due to students unrest that has been increasing rampantly in the recent past.
However, parents and teachers have been reading from different scripts others supporting the idea while others are against it. Until now it is still unclear whether canes will be reintroduced in the education sector or not.
Parents of a minor reported an incident in which two teachers were involved in beating up of their child to a constitutional court of law where the court charged the teachers with a fine of 4.2 million shillings.
Unfortunately, two teachers who were disciplining a pupil have been slapped with a fine of four point two million shillings. This is an indication to teachers that if you discipline someone’s child do it at your own risk.
There are two risks that are involved. One, you risk being fined heavily or even worse you risk losing your job. Do it at your own risk.
