A Teacher Impregnates Six Pupils In Kisii County
Parents from one school in Kisii County are in protest after a report reveals that a teacher impregnates six pupils in one school.
The affected pupils reported that the teacher has preying on them during prep hours on weekends.
While speaking to journalists on Sunday, 30th January 2022, parents of of Nyarenda Public Primary school in Bomachoge Chache expressed their disappointment after they received report that the person behind the pregnancy of their daughters is a teacher.
The teacher now been put on the spot over spiralling pregnancies at the school.
The six pupils who have been confirmed pregnant, some of them are KCPE candidates who are set to sit for their examination next month.
According to report from the journalist who visited the school on Sunday, parents want the teacher to be arrested and prosecuted.
Gender activists have since weighed in to urge the government to launch deep and decisive investigation into the matter.
One pupil reported to the journalists that the teacher lured her into an office and repeatedly defiled her.
” The teacher called me to office spent with me repeatedly. I am now six months pregnant” One pupil said.
“We are so disappointed, we had high hopes on the teacher but he has turned out to be a beast. On the other hand, the ministry officials who were informed more than one month ago are not helping. The The incident has not started today, so I it started as soon as the teacher was posted to the school”. Said John Kebaso, one of the parents.
The parent said that teacher may or may not be directly linked to all these pregnancies but there is suspicion something fishy going on that needs some explanation from the school administration.
Activist Cyrus told the start that the residents are aware of the schemes by some parents and education officials in Ogembo and Kenyenya to have the matter silenced so that the teacher who is nearing retirement can be given his pension.
“We cannot keep quiet as the predator destroys the livelihoods of our children, justice must be done,” the activist told the Star.
He also laid blame on the county education director Pius Ng’oma of negligence, saying he should also be investigated for possible cover ups of such vices in the county.
The area MP Alfa Miruka has been tasked to follow up the matter to ensure more pupils are not caught in the web of defilements by teachers posted in the constituency. The teacher should therefore be interdicted and arrested to face the full force of the law.
‘’The law is very clear to any teacher who is involved in sexual affairs with the minor. We are not seeking a transfer but an interdiction and arrest so that justice can be served,” he said.
