Sad News: Form One boy dies and three others injured in Nyabondo boys high school in Kisumu county
A toilet caved in at Nyabondo boys high school in Kisumu county killing one boy on the spot as three other students are injured. The boy is said to be a form one student.
According to the reports from different sources, the toilet has been in bad shape. It caved in when the boys entered to answer the call of nature. It is reported that the form one boy fell inside the pit.
Rescue team from the county headquarters arrived at the school and retrieved his body from the pit three hours later.
The other three boys who were injured were taken to Nyabondo Mission hospital for treatment following the incident.
The institution was thrown to mourning following the sad incident. Parents and learners together with the teachers are griefing the sudden demise of the boy.
Parents who arrived at the school premises camped in the compound as they wanted to confirm if there were other students who might have been affected by the caving of the toilet.
The identy of the boy was not revealed to the media for good reasons. According to one of the teachers they are still in shock as they did not foresaw the incident.
Professor Peter Nyong’o, His Excellency the governor Kisumu county, condoled with the school fraternity and the parents of the deceased boy as he described the incident as unfortunate.
The rescue team dispatched to the scene from the county government offices tried to rescue the boy but their efforts did not pay as the boy died.
Police have since the incident visited the institution to launch an investigation into the incident.
