Pemwai Girls High School Students Go On Strike.
Students from Pemwai Girls High School located in Baringo County have gone on strike after one of them had allegedly died in the institution under unclear circumstances.
The students are reported to have Paralysed learning this morning aster they took it to streets demanding for the matter to be addressed by the officials from the education headquarters in the county.
The girls peaceful walked for over three kilometers to Kabarnet Stadium where they staged their protest and demanded to be addressed by the Ministry officials in the area.
Citizen digital reported this afternoon that the girls revealed that one of their students, who they did not name, had developed nose bleeding while at the school and thereafter.
According to the report, the nose bleeding is said to have persistent for a few days before the girl died while in the school compound.
The girls reported that they had requested the principal not less than once to allow the girl go home to get treatment.
“Despite teachers trying to get the girl get better medication elsewhere, the principal refused all efforts.” One of the students said.
The students also accused the school nurse of incompetence and expressed their disappointment for having such a nurse in the institution.
