Lugari primary school Headteacher On Spot For Failing To Register 23 Pupils For Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) Examination.
At Lugari Primary School there was confusion as it emerged that twenty three Candidates did not register for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination.
The Officials from Kenya National Examination Council who were overseeing the opening of the exams had to photocopy the examination papers for the twenty three learners who were affected.
It emerged the twenty three Candidates had been forced to remain in class seven when the rest were proceeding to class eight. It was after registration was over when the affected learners joined class eight hence were not registered.
Mr Steven Barongo Education Regional Director for Western informed The Standard over the phone that he was aware of the matter and that he will get in touch with the Education Sub-County Director who can comment over the issue.
Mr Baringo said that once they get a brief on whether the affected pupils were registered and if not why were they not registered, they will share the information to clarify the matter.
Elsewhere, ten female candidates sat for their Examination in different hospitals after delivering.
Mr Julius Jwan Principal Secretary Ministry of Education said the expectant Candidates will not be discriminated as the government will accord them the support they need as they write their exams.
At Embu Level five three expectant girls are writing their exams, while one girl delivered at Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital and yet two other girls delivered at Nyamira Referral hospital. The three are admitted and are writing their exams from the hospita.
In Nyeri County, one boy is writing his exams at Nyeri General Hospital after he was involved in a motorcycle accident and sustained injuries.
