Another Candidate Collapses and Dies While Writing KCSE Exams
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations began on Monday but on a wrong foot as cases of cheating marred the first day of exams.
On Thursday last week a third year university student was arrested for selling fake examination papers. Again on the first day of the examination many people including invigolators and a kisii university student were arrested in relation to exam malpractice.
However, the sad part is that cases of students dying hours to exams have been reported. In addition a candidate who was suppose to sit for his exams from alliance boys went Missing days to the kicking off of exams.
In Kericho County, Kipkelion West Sub-County, Chilchila Secondary School a student collapsed while waiting to write his first paper in an exam room. The student was rushed Fort Tenan Sub-County Hospital where the student was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Processor George Magoha while speaking in kiambu county said that the exams began without serious hiccups. He further warned that anyone who will try to take a photo of the examination materials will be tracked down.
Anyone who will be caught involved in any form of exam malpractice will be arrested and we will not have any mercy on them, professor Magoha said.
Finally the Education Cabinet Secretary said that during the marking of the exams, the candidates from war stricken areas shall be given a special consideration.
