Oriwo Boys: The Fate Of 2021 KCSE Candidates
The 2021 Candidates who sat their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination at Oriwo Boys High School in Rachuonyo North sub-county have thirty days before they can know their fate. Their results were withheld.
The students have until the end of next month before they know their fate. That is to say they have to wait for a whole month to know if they will be given results.
Results were withheld due to alleged irregularities committed by the candidates and investigation is underway to determine the matter.
After the results were released, the candidates from the school who tried to check their results through sms did not receive text messages showing how they scored.
It later emerged that their results were withheld by the Kenya National Examinations Council.
KNEC wrote a letter to the school Principal Mr.Maurice Akal yesterday informing him that it investigations were underway on how the exam were carried out at the school.
In the letter, Chief Executive Officer for KNEC Dr. David Njengere said all the candidates from the school were affected.
Part of the letter read that the results of all the 2021 candidates at Oriwo Boys High School, centre code 41731303 have been withheld due to suspicion that the candidates might have engaged in exam irregularities.
Dr Njengere did not state what was done exactly by the students to prompt withholding of the results by KNEC.
However, he said the findings from the ongoing investigation shall be communicated next month (30 days from today).
Oriwo boys Principal Mr Akal has been instructed to pass the message from KNEC to the candidates affected. Atleast five hundred boys Who were registered.
