Mackenzie High School in machakos county, Matungulu Sub-county, has become popular for admitting unruly students expelled from other institutions.
The school was founded in 2005 by a retired principal who had served in the same capacity in four national schools. It is located in the outskirts of Nairobi. It has served as a school and home for the unruly ones.
The Director of the private school John Mackenzie, said that the school welcome unruly students with open arms and rehabilitate them so that they can recover from their unfit behavior.
The director narrated that it is not a walk in the park to rehabilitate rogue children but through counseling and mentorship, they ensure that they meet the objective.
The students are mentored accordingly by both internal and external professionals. To change them requires patience and tolerance.
John noted that where students fail to conform, fail to change and mend ways, when the students continue to be nuisance even after being talked to severally, the institution has no any other choice other than to expell them adding that such scenarios are rare.
The school posted a mean score of 4.2 in the last year’s KCSE exam, a spectacular performers in the sub-county from such caliber of learners.
The school offers aviation technology subject. The director attributed it’s stunning performance to the subject. The learners posted a mean of 8 in aviation technology.
