KUCCPS takes over teacher training colleges admissions
Placement of teachers to various training colleges has been taken over by Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service.
George Magoha Education Cabinet Secretary announced that atleast 1,538 students have been placed in Diploma colleges both for Primary Teacher Education and Early Childhood Teacher Education.
The 1,538 trainee teachers were placed in 32 public diploma primary teacher training colleges where they will be trained to deliver the CBC curriculum.

The move by kuccps comes barely after the Ministry of Education expanded it’s mandate to take over placement of new students to teacher training colleges.
With the new move, it means that students in teacher training colleges institutions will qualify for loans from the Higher Education Loans Board just like university students.
Students applying for TTC admissions will now do it through kuccps system online unlike before where they were required to do it manually via the Ministry of Education at county headquarters.
So far the students have been placed in three diploma colleges for teacher training by kuccps. The colleges are kibabii, Kagumo and Lugari. However, KUCCPS had listed 35 colleges on its portal for placement
