Shock as Children Stumble on a Teacher’s Body While Playing
A fifty six year old primary School teacher was found dead and her body disposed off in a well at Kandongu in Kirinyaga County.
Children who were playing stumbled on the woman’s body and fled in panic to give the information to their parents.
The parents informed the police from the Kiamaciri station who responded immediately and arrived at the scene to pick the remains of the teacher. The primary school teacher has been identified as Wangithi Karuria. She was teaching at Wakaniu Primary School.
Karuria was last seen on Tuesday evening with her son according to a report from the residents. They ate supper that evening together before her son headed back to his house a short distance from the mother’s.
It is suspected that the woman was strangled to death in her house and the body dumped in a well in the neighborhood. The female teacher lived alone.
Residents said that the door to her house was found wide open and most likely she was killed and the body thrown in the well.
Police Commander mwea east Mr Koskei Wilson said the body was taken to Kibugi Funeral Home in Kutus for a postmortem. He said investigations have begun to determine what transpired that night.
Residents have been called upon to cooperate with police so that the matter can be resolved soon by providing any information that could help with the investigations.
