Parents Decry Poor State Of Primary School Toilets And Other Infrastructures
Parents decry poor state of primary school. Gachoka public Primary School, in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s neighborhood, is in a run-down state and urgently requires face-lift.
Cross check at the institution indicated an abandoned learning institution whose classrooms have huge cracks on the walls and the floors with most of the windows lacking window panes.
In a few classrooms requisite doors are lacking while most of the desks being used by the learners are in pathetic state.
The school’s toilets have been in dilapidated state, a condition which have forced some learners to withhold visits to the toilets even as others brave themselves by using the neglected, collapsing latrines.
According to a member of board management in the school, Moses Thithai, the school has never been repaired since it was established the last 50 years and the pupils are still using the same same infrastructure which were used by their grandparents.
BOM member expressed concerns that pupils have been performing dismally for the past few years which have made the situation worse as most parents have opted to transfer their children to the neighbouring schools.
