Conduct new elections for Parent Association officials
The election results for parents association officials were nullified by the court because of reasons which were not disclosed to the public.
The National Electoral Board (NEB) has called for a fresh election of National Parents Association (NPA) officials after the High Court annulled the election of the current officials.
The decision of Justice Hedwig Ongudi on May 31, 2022 annulled the national representative election led by Nicolas Mayo.
In a notice published in a local newspaper, the Election Board said it will hold an election on August 27, 2022, at a location that will be notified separately to delegates.
“The court ordered the NEB to hold a new election within 45 days,” he said.
The association has announced the following vacancies; Four posts for National Chairperson, General Secretary, National Treasurer, Organizing Secretary and their respective deputies (position for four deputies).
Other positions: representatives of universities and colleges, sub-sector of special needs schools, sub-sector of secondary schools, sub-sector of primary schools and ECDE and sub-sector of private schools.
Association board chairman Musa Nthesi asked parents who want to contest for the position to submit their applications before August 15.
Application forms will be collected from the Council office upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Sh2,500.
