Earlier this week some Leaflets were circulated in uasin gishu warning some residents to flee from the area ahead of the general elections.
An investigation over the source of the Leaflets was conducted and later on nine University Students from moi University were arrested over the circulation of the said Leaflets.
The leaflet which has since sparked unrest has warned some communities to leave Uasin Gishu County ahead of the August 9 general election if they do not vote for a particular presidential candidate.
Pleading his innocence, one of the students told the court that he was not the source of the leaflets.
Beatrice Wangari Kumari said she received hateful messages from Central Kenya and the original author was reported to the police.
He also said that it would not be safe to release the nine because their opinions differed.
The Chief Magistrate of Eldoret, Onkoba Mogire, ordered the arrest of the students and further ordered that they be detained for three more days for further investigation.
