The Court of Appeal has upheld the Supreme Court’s decision to compel the Electoral Commission to use manual registration for the August 9, 2022 general election.
In a brief ruling by a three-judge bench comprising Fred Ochieng, Paul Mwaniki Gachoka, Luke Kima’ru, the Court of Appeal overturned the decision requiring the IEBC to use a printed physical register in Tuesday’s election. by the United Democratic Union (UDA).
“After careful consideration of the complaint, we are of the opinion that the UDA has filed an application in the Nairobi High Court on August 4, 2022 for a stay order of the whole court granted in the Constitutional Petition E306 of 2022. The examination and determination of the appeal is intended for Justice Kimaru, who led the judgment on behalf of the court, he said.
