CS Announces Changes In The 2022 Academic Calendar After Another Change In The School Reopening Dates
The Ministry of Education once again changes the reopening dates that will affect the 2022 academic calendar.
Following the government’s order for the immediate closure of all schools in the corner effective Tuesday, August 2 to pave way for elections, it has been indeed a relief to many Kenyans.
Many Kenyans still had termed the move as disatisfactory. However a big number of parents were happy with this news.
The ministry of education has once again postponed schools reopening date to 18th August 2022 from the original 15th August.
According to a statement issued to the media, the ministry led by Prof George Magoha changed the date since tallying of results for the elections that were held on 9th August is still going on.
This order will apply to all basic education institutions across the country.
On 10th August, Magoha postponed the reopening of schools from the earlier announced 11th August and apologized for the inconvenience occasioned by the changes.
He asked for parents’ ndulgence, as the ministry of education works through in ensuring the safety and comfort of learners through the post elections period.
As of now, verifications of forms submitted by Presiding officers is currently going on at the Bomas of Kenya, with many Kenyans hoping that the presidential results will be announced between today and tommorow so that they can resume their normal schedules.
Going by the statement released by CS George Magoha ,all school will remain closed until August 11, to allow for preparations and conduct of the August 9 general elections.
Now the ministry of education through CS Magoha has hinted possible challenges in terms Dates which may consequently lead to changes in the national examinations dates from December to January 2023.
Other parents have indicated a breathe a sigh of relief considering that most of them had been asked by the school administrations of their learners to write a commitment letter showcasing how they would be clearing this term’s school fees balance .
Other students had already been sent home for school fees.
This earlier Halfterm dates will enable parents to adjust and clear fees as Schools reopen on 18th of August.
