KNEC Once Again Changes Timetable for Examinations
According to the schedule released by Kenya National Examination Council, a Timetable has been re for the national examinations which are set to begin two months time from now.
Grade 6 and standard 8 national examinations timetable has been released by KNEC. Grade 6 learners have already began their examinations, they started on Monday.
David Njeng’ere Chief Executive Officer for KNEC gave out directives for all primary institutions to download and administer examinations under the Competency Based Curriculum by next week in relation to the assessment materials KNEC made available on its portal.
Schools will then have one week to upload their results of the assessment to the portal. So far the learners are through with their practicals and projects.
The subjects to be examined in the upcoming national assessment is 13. They include; Maths, English, Kiswahili, Home Science, Science and Technology, Creative Arts, Health Education and Moral and Life Skills and Physical Education.
In addition, History, Geography and foreign language (Chinese, Arabic, German and French) will be tested.
Projects and practical activities will be uploaded by the school on or before 16th September. Results will be determined through a five-subject summative national examination and a school-based assessment (SBA) which is done annually in upper primary classes.
Grade 6 candidates will sit for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) at the end of the year.
Kenya Certificate of Primary Education will begin on Monday, 28th November and end on Wednesday, 30th November.
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education is set to begin on Friday, 2nd December with English paper one and Chemistry paper 1
