Property worth thousands of shillings has been reduced to ashes following a fire at a Dallas property in Embu.
Earlier on Saturday, it destroyed more than 10 houses and left a trail.
“The fire started in one of the houses before it spread to the neighboring rental units,” residents told Citizen Digital.
Resident Emma Mwende said she was doing her morning errands when she heard one of her neighbors screaming.
“I just ran home to see what was going on,” Mwende said.
Residents banded together to put out the fire and then the county fire department joined in.
“A few minutes after we raised the alarm, the fire brigade arrived. Thanks to everyone who helped prevent the fire from spreading further,” he said
