Magoha Reiterate Support for CBC Even as Review Task Force Express Mixed Reactions
A review task force on Competency Based Curriculum was put in place to determine whether or not the curriculum should be implemented fully or adjustments be made.
The team however have not reached any conclusion but so far they have expressed mixed reactions.
Amidst the protest surrounding the new curriculum, Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has reiterated his support for the Competency-Based Curriculum.
During the 94th Kenya Music Festival launch at Kisumu Girls High School on Monday, September 19, Magoha stated that the curriculum was the solution to unemployment in the country
The CS argued that rather than reading to pass exams and pursue courses in University, CBC provides learners with the opportunity to exploit their talents. He explained that through the curriculum, learners who had gone to university would eventually get employed by the talented ones.
Magoha highlighted the plight most graduates across the country have had to contend with after completing their courses. The CS added that it was illogical to do all the learning only to go from one interview to the next in search of jobs.
