The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) is demanding that the government Invites all stakeholders to join the task force tasked to review the Competency Based Curriculum education system.
KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu said the union is a key stakeholder in the entire process as it represents teachers who are at the heart of the implementation of the system.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 94th edition of the Kenya Music Festival in Kisumu, Oyuu said the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) should also join the task force.
He said the only option as far as the new curriculum goes is to review the gaps and resolve the deficiencies and improve the facilities.
Oyuu accused CBC-linked politicians of abusing Teachers. This comes a few days after a prominent politician said that the number of chicken in his village is reducing as Teachers take advantage of CBC to get chickens from Learners for their consumption.
“It is wrong for an elected leader to admit that teachers destroyed chickens in the entire village through CBC.”
