MoE Sets Tough Conditions for Promotion of TVET Instructors
Ministry of Education has set tough conditions that must be met by all TVET instructors before being promoted.
At a five-day training seminar for TVET instructors in the Western and Nairobi regions held at the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology, Nakuru County, Mr. Mosiori asked instructors to work hard so that they can be promoted.
He used his own example. He was once an instructor and through hard work he was promoted to Director of Kisumu National Polytechnic.
He said that the future status of any instructor is determined by current job. Once performance reviews prove that we deliver quality service, we can climb the ladder to the next level, he added.
The set conditions comes following several complaints raised by TVET instructors on promotion. One of the instructors, who wished to remain anonymous, complained that juniors were stuck in the same job group despite being promoted.
Director of Kisumu National Polytechnic urged all trainers to complete performance reviews in a timely manner and submit them to the responsible authorities as required by law.
The criteria to be used for promotions in the future will be based on hard work and performance review basically.
