Secondary School Principal Murdered By Assailants in Her House, Teachers Quarters
It is saddening to Report an incident where a gang of thugs murdered a school principal (in her house) who was staying within the school compound, teachers residential quarters.
The deceased was a principal, Rangenyo girls Secondary school in Nyamira County, Nyamira south sub-county.
The incident took place over the weekend at night. It is still unclear on how the Thugs found their way to the staff quarters and even managed to get inside the Principal’s house without the security guards noticing.
According to the area chief Mr Joseph Obiero, the school principal was found on early morning with injuries all over her body at her house in the school.
She was rushed to a hospital in Kisii where she was admitted. She succumbed to the injuries shortly after.
According to area chief, there was some noticeable indications that the principal struggled some much, fought with the assailants, before she was subdued.
There were blood trails and scattered items all over the house which indicated that there was some struggle during the attack. This however, raise alot of questions, where were the security guards all this while? Does the principal stay alone away from other staff members in the quarters? How safe are our schools?
The body of the deceased is at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem before the burial arrangements can be made.
Police officers from Nyamira Police station have began investigations into the incident.
Nyamira County Director of Education has made an appeal to the public, parents, students and all Stakeholders to be calm as we await the investigation to be conducted.
The director mourned the deceased as one of the best principals in the County as she had the interest of her Learners and the colleague Teachers at heart.
Meanwhile the parents have Urged the police to speed up the investigations so that the culprits can be arrested and punished by the law.
