Police in Kirinyaga County have arrested a 17-year-old girl accused of killing her father in Ndindiruku village, Mwea East, Kirinyaga County.
According to Mwea East District Police Commander Daniel Kitawi, the incident happened at the weekend when the student refused to serve his father food because his mother was away.
The police boss said that the late Justus Mutiso came home drunk around 10.30pm and started demanding the girl to give him food but she refused to give him food because her mother was away for church at night(KESHA).Kitavi said that after confusion, the girl decided to look for her mother at a temple 500 meters from her home.
When the mother arrived, the man was lying on a pool of blood, but she was not sure of what was going on after her daughter told her that she refused to serve him food.
As a result, she attacked him and stabbed him. Mutiso died while being treated at Kimbimbi Hospital.
However, relatives have different opinions about the incident.
Her grandmother, Veronica Wanja, said this was not the first time the man attacked her daughter, while Mutiso’s sister, Bancy Kanini, said the girl should respect her father. We were able to find the kitchen knife that was used to kill the father,” said Kiarukungu regional chief Henry Kariuki, the first such incident in the region since the operation began.
