Gachagua said every child who takes the exam deserves a fair chance to pass.
“We want a level playing field for our candidates in the upcoming national exams so that every child gets what they deserve,” he said.
He added that stern action would be taken against those accused of leaking exams.
“We demand vigilance and responsibility during the Kenya National Examination period.”
In his speech on Friday, the Deputy President asked the teachers to be satisfied with their wages. He said satisfaction is the only way to prevent criminals from trying to pay for the exam.
He said that no officer participating in the examination be it teachers, invigilators, supervisors, security personnel or any other person in the entire country should be found to have leaked the examination.
“The law will catch you and it’s really pointless.”
He said there is status and fulfillment in making money in a good way through hard work and sweat.
“It is very satisfying to earn Sh50,000 after 30 days of work or supervision instead of rigging exams.”
The DP urged teachers who are not satisfied with their salaries to start farming or invest in Saccos to generate additional income.
