A man in Nairobi Kidnapped his stepson after having a bitter disagreement with his wife and demanded for a ransom so that he could release the boy.
Luckily, the Police in Nairobi were able to arrest the man before he could board a vehicle within green park matatu terminus. The man was accused of kidnapping his 8-year-old stepson to extort money from his wife after a domestic disagreement.
Nemwel Ondari, 32, was arrested on Saturday afternoon at the NMS Green Park matatu terminus some hours after the boy’s mother filed a report at Embakasi police station.
The mother of the boy reportedly told detectives that she had left their home in Embakasi area early morning for Muthurwa market where upon coming back before noon, she found her husband and son were not at home.
However, she found a note that had been left behind by the husband, demanding for a ransom of Ksh. 50,000, for the release of the boy. In the note, the man warned her that he would kill the boy using a kitchen knife he had carried with him if she would try any monkey business with him.
The man was tracked down to the city bus stage where he was arrested. His actions resulted from a heated argument they had previous night and after Everline left on Saturday morning to fend for her family, the man decided to pack his belongings in two bags along with a kitchen knife before leaving with the boy.
As he was eagerly waiting for the ransom to be deposited into his Mpesa account the police pounced on him.
The mother and her son were reunited and the man is being held at Embakasi police station awaiting arraignment.
