Two people have been confirmed dead while one has been rescued after a five-storey building collapsed at Ruaka in Kiambu County early Thursday morning.
The building collapsed at around 3:30 am and collapsed on adjacent building where tenants were asleep.
Rescue efforts are currently ongoing led by Kiambu County officials and Kenya Defence Forces officials.
Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi is also on location participating in the rescue operations.
This comes barely after two days when another Seven-storey building that was under construction collapsed in Kasarani, Nairobi.
Many people, mostly construction workers, were trapped in the rubble. Rescue operations were began immediately and by yesterday three people were confirmed to have died from the incident.
Yet again, last week Another eight Storey Building Collapsed in Nairobi. From the many incidents, the co government should halt any constructions until conclusive inspections are done to ensure that no life’s will be lost in future due to buildings collapsing of buildings.
