TSC Announces Recruitment Of 30000
TeachersThe Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced plans to recruit over 30000 teachers in January next year under permanent and pensionable terms.
The Commission has said that the recruitment of 30000 teachers in January next year is meant to bridge the staffing gap in public schools to improve the quality of service delivery.
Education CS, Ezekiel Machogu has blamed harsh economic times for not fulfilling hiring of the number of teachers president William Ruto promised.According to the announcement education CS made yesterday, he said that the remainder of the 116,000 teachers president Ruto promised to recruit will be pushed forward to a later date.
CS Machogu said that hiring will be done progressively until the staffing gab in public schools is bridged.
While speaking in Kisii CS Machogu added that President Ruto will not fulfil his promise at once because of the current economic situation in the country.
The CS education promised Kenyans that national examinations scheduled this month will be fair and credible.
He said that different stakeholders will come together to as a unit to ensure credibility of the three national examinations.
Mr Machogu further said that no examination has leaked so far. He warned the public over examination malpractices in the forthcoming national examinations.
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has spelled out tough guidelines, highlighting several regulations during the entire examination period.
KNEC Chief Executive Officer David Njeng’ere has urged the examination officials to ensure that no mobile phone is allowed into examination rooms.
This year the Kenya National Examination Council is going to administer three national examinations namely Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), KCSE and KCPE.
Additionally, CS Machogu said the in the coming weeks, guidance on the domiciling of junior secondary school learners will be announced following sharp disagreement between the two teachers unions on the matter.
