Teachers Service Commission CEO Nancy Macharia has said that TSC will deploy 21,550 teachers interns to assist in the handling of the Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) pupils.
Speaking on Wednesday during the release of the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results, Macharia said that it will help in facilitating learning in Junior Secondary Schools.
“30,550 new teachers will be recruited, 9,000 under the permanent and pensionable terms and 21, 550 teacher internsFurther, she noted, a total of 137,772 teachers were engaged during the administration of the 2022 KCPE examination.
“There were 28,408 centre managers, 28,727 supervisors 74, 990 invigilators and 5,647 examiners,” she said.KNEC CEO David Njengere had said that KPSEA results will be released on January 16, next year.
Njengere said the report on the maiden KPSEA exam will come in three reports.Some 1.3 million students sat the exams administered between November 28 and 30.
The students will graduate and proceed to Grade 7 in January, where they will join Junior Secondary schools under the CBC program.
