Teachers and parents of Moi CommonWealth Primary school in Bungoma were left in shock upon release of this year’s KCPE examination.
This is after it emerged that the top student from the institution scored 365 marks out of the possible 500.
This they found shocking as in the previous year, the top student from the school had scored 418 marks. Noting a big drop in performance.
The school had emerged among the top in last year’s KCPE examination.
The emotional headteacher from the school, Kevin Wanyama, said he decided to call parents to school as they kept calling him to inquire about the shocking results.
Wanyama said he also had a child who sat the national examination from the institution but cannot send his results as they are shockingly low.
My child has scored 334 and his school of choice was Maranda. How can I send him such low results?, the headteacher wonder while sobbing.
The same county produced the top student nationally in the exam.
Robinson Fwaro, 14, from Christ the King Primary School in Kanduyi constituency, Bungoma county scored 431 marks in the 2022 KCPE.
