One month down the line, Education PS Belio Kipsang speaks on the 2022 KCSE results. After the release of the results Kenyans had several questions without answers on the credibility of the exams.
For the entire time, people sought for clarifications on the results. After two weeks people shifted their focus to form ones joining high school with Grade 7 learners joining junior high.
However, Early learning and basic education PS Belio Kipsang has today come out to dispute allegations that there was cheating during the 2022 KCSE exams.
According to Kipsang there was only early exposure to some Examination papers by teachers and which does not amount to exam leakage.
PS Belio kipsang was speaking when the department for Early learning and basic education appeared before the National Assembly Education committee.
Contrary to his early statement, he said teachers may have accessed the second paper done at 11 am earlier but “I can tell you with certainty that no leakage happened in the first paper,” he said.
He further said that the ministry and the examinations body have put in place strict measures to complete Do away with early exposure of the second paper.
For this year’s examination Belio affirms that they have a firm plan on how to handle and prevent issues of early exposure.
This is even as Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, PS Kipsang and Knec officials were summoned in a twin probe into alleged cheating in the 2022 KCSE exam begins in Parliament.
The top Education ministry officials will face Senate’s Education Committee to explain the widespread claims that the exam was marred with irregularities.
