According to the police, Pastor told his congregation of thousands of people that it was Jesus who gave him the tickets to heaven.
The pastor along with his wife promoted and sold thousands of “golden tickets”, claiming that they were made of pure gold and would get their owner directly into heaven without facing any judgement.
According to Zimbabwean media the clergyman convinced congregants that Jesus had appeared to him miraculously and handed him the tickets personally adding that the golden tickets would guarantee anyone a straight pass to heaven without fear of judgement.
While pleading for his innocence, the pastor said it was jesus christ who appeared to him and gave him the golden tickets to sell to anyone who wanted salvation.
The pastor proved popular with his followers, as thousands of them took to the street demanding he be freed. The pastor’s wife meanwhile denied any charges, saying that she was not directly involved in the scam as she only watched her husband sell the tickets.
Some of the people who bought tickets said that they wanted to go to heaven to enjoy some coccaine.
