250 More Flights Cancelled, Several Passengers Left Stranded
Several passengers have been left stranded after a move to cancel 250 more flights.
Another 250 flights have been cancelled by American Airlines. The cancellation was done on Monday, continuing a days-long chain reaction of cancellations that started last week.
On Sunday the American airline was reported to have cancelled 1,058 flights of its originally scheduled flights. This number is in addition to the 548 flights the airline cancelled on Saturday and 343 flights on Friday.
The cancelled flights have left several tens of thousands of passengers stranded worldwide.
In a memo, American COO David Seymour said the airline is cancelling e Mn the earlier scheduled flights after high winds and bad weather hit major hubs including Dallas-Fort Worth on Thursday last week, leaving flight crews out of position.
Southwest Airlines cancelled more than 2,000 flights three weeks ago over several days citing weather and air traffic control issues.
