Application Deadline for Varsity Funding Extended
The application deadline for higher education funding has been extended by the Cabinet Secretary for Education Honorable Ezekiel Machogu after a smaller percentage of candidates applied.
According to some statistics, it was revealed that only fifty nine percent of the students have applied for the funding.
The deadline for application was earlier set to be this week. However, following the latest revelation, the Cabinet Secretary has seen it beneficial to extend the application date by a period of one month.
A total of one hundred and fifty six thousand Learners only who are joining both technical and vocational education and training institutions and university have applied for the funding out of the expected number of two hundred and sixty five thousand Learners.
The Education Ministry further did away with the identication card requirement for the underage Learners. It is expected that this will allow all learners to access the funding and proceed with the studies.
