Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology has been thrown into mourning after a fourth-year engineering student is allegedly stabbed to death.
The sudden death of Jonathan Weinganga Wa Telewa has shocked students, lecturers and the entire Masinde Muliro University fraternity and everyone is griefed.
According to the report Weinganga Wa Telewa was stabbed in the chest by an unknown individual. The incident took place on 7th Wednesday 2021 at around 10 am within Kakamega town.
Until his death, Jonathan has been fighting for his life in the Kakamega County General and Referral hospital when doctors pronounced him as no more.
Further, it was reported by the doctor that the sharp knife penetrated through his sternum and affected blood circulation in his heart.
Telewa, an upcoming leader, a poet, a political strategist and a future civil engineer had a promising future but the cruelty of death has snatched him too soon.
While in first year at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, the late served as a students hostel Hall three representative.
The late had big dreams and he was a focused person. He was aspiring to become the instruction’s president when elections were to be held early next year. Early next year, Telewa had hinted that he could seek votes of other comrades in the position of the institution’s presidency.
Cases of students being attacked in Kakamega town have become rampant. Another student was killed beginning of this year in Kakamega town under unclear circumstances. Police launched investigations over the incident and promised to add more security officers in areas where students reside to ensure they are secured.
All University comrades are advised to be very vigilant on whom to relate with and where for security purposes. More so they should avoid risk their lives walking late on campus alone be it one is a man or female.
